Maryland travel destinations are divided into five areas: Western, Capital, Central, Southern and Eastern Shore. In Western Maryland nothing beats the freshwater fishing available to be found in Deer Creek Lake, the state’s largest lake.
The Capital region is the three counties that border Washington D.C. and includes Six Flags America, numerous historic sites, a tour of six wineries and arts/entertainment districts.
Central Maryland includes Baltimore and Annapolis with a number of popular attractions including the U.S. Naval Academy, the Babe Ruth Museum and fine dining. Outside of the metropolitan areas there are horse farms and miles of gently rolling green acres and small waterside communities.
Southern Maryland encompasses the three counties at the tip of the western side of the Chesapeake Bay. This is a land of natural beauty, delicious seafood and a boater’s paradise. The opposite side of the Bay is Eastern Maryland is the place to get blue crabs and enjoy the boardwalk of Ocean City.
