Alaska Family Adventure Vacation

An Alaska family adventure vacation is probably the most memorable, life-changing experience that you can offer your family. This Last Frontier and Land of the Midnight Sun offer more opportunities to experience Nature at its most wild and beautiful.

A trip to Denali National Park on an Alaska family adventure vacation will introduce you to the best of Alaska’s wildlife. Keep your eyes open because you just might see bear, moose, Dall sheep, caribou, fox and, if you’re lucky, wolf. Towering overhead is Mount McKinley, North America’s highest peak; 20,320 feet high above the six million acres of this wilderness.

Anchorage, Alaska is a thoroughly modern city featuring hotels, great family attractions and fun shopping, where you might still come across a moose at the edge of town. While you are in Anchorage visit the Alaska Native Heritage Center, the Museum of History and Art, and the Alaska Zoo. Go ahead and schedule a trip on a sea plane to go bear watching, where you’ll get to see not only Alaska’s brown bears, but the large and impressive Alaskan grizzlies.

If you really want to get away from it all on your Alaska family adventure vacation, head for the Arctic Circle. See Prudhoe Bay, travel across the Arctic Coastal Plain then head for the Brooks Range. Let your kids see the beauty of this extraordinary wilderness.

If you want to do more than sightsee, then plan a fishing trip that will challenge you to land a big salmon for dinner. Go kayaking and find yourself accompanied by a group of playful sea lions. Take a cruise through the inland waterways, see polar bears, majestic whales, soaring eagles and watch glaciers calving into the frigid waters of a bay.

Visit Wasilla and visit the Iditarod Race Headquarters and perhaps get a chance to meet some of the pups that will grow up to run the famous race. Explore the history of Alaska’s gold rush with a visit to Kennicott, a real mining town.

There is so much to see and do on an Alaska family adventure vacation that you just might have to go back several times. After all, there is something about this refrigerated paradise that calls to the wild in the adventurous, luring them back again and again.
