Baja Mexico

Baja Mexico is a favorite spring break destination for over one hundred thousand college students from the US. The various cities on the Baja Peninsula or on the mainland across the Gulf of California welcome students who head south each spring to let loose, party and shake off the winter doldrums.

Cabo San Lucas is one of the most popular Baja Mexico spring break destinations. This is a city that is thoroughly modern and designed specifically for the tourist. Forget history and fascinating architecture, instead you will find an exciting blend of hip nightclubs, bars, shops and boutiques. There are numerous, all-inclusive vacation packages to some of the most beautiful and exotic resorts.

Ensenada, located just over the boarder from Southern California, is a city geared to attract the American tourist and shopper. This is Mexico’s second-most popular port-of-call for many cruise ships. In addition to the beaches and hotels, there are plenty of nature outings for those who want to see all they can while they are in this beautiful city.

Rosarito Beach is just 18 miles south of the California border, and is the most friendly, welcoming city in Baja. For spring break the weather is perfect and sandals and shorts are the standard attire for any attraction in this town. The lodging is easily affordable or easily luxurious, perfect for any budget. Nighttime is a time of fiesta with karaoke bars, floor shows, sophisticated night clubs or bars where you can get wild and crazy as you party till dawn.

The Mexican government wants to ensure that all visitors to their beautiful country enjoy their visit and take home only pleasant memories. To this end there are a few points they would like you to remember:

  • You are in a foreign country and must obey their laws and customs
  • You will need a valid Passport to re-enter the United States
  • Be careful about drunk and disorderly, it can get you in real trouble with the Law
  • Drug use and dealing can result in a year in jail without bail and before trial.
  • Don’t bring as much as a pocketknife or bullet into Mexico.
